CLIENT — THE WALTERS ART MUSEUM
COURSE — SIGNS, EXHIBITS, SPACES AT THE MARYLAND INSTITUTE COLLEGE OF ART
The Walters Art Museum is in need of signage that will better market temporary exhibits, better utilize the available building surfaces, and give the museum more presence along Charles Street and near the Washington Monument. This new system concept works to be attention grabbing and unifying to showcase a single organization—highlighting all 3 buildings by taking advantage of their unique architectural features.
The Walters Art Museum is a public art museum founded in 1934 in Mount Vernon, Baltimore with collections created during the mid-19th Century. The Walters is one of only a few museums in the world to present such a panorama of art; the thousands of treasures range from mummies to arms and armor, from old master paintings to Art Nouveau jewelry.
